Autumn Newsletter 2025 Part 2

As there has been so much happening this summer, I rushed to get the newsletter out.  I would now like to add a few more missing events!!

In June Pontevedra, North West Spain,  was staging a two weekend multisport event.  A charming medieval town with a fantastic atmosphere.

Dean went there to represent GBR in the World duathlon and came an very creditable 15th in his age group.  Congratulations Dean.

The following weekend, 27th June, I too went to Pontevedra to represent GBR in the World aquathlon.  I was up against some very fast women from New Zealand and Australia not to mention in the GBR team!

On the 19th of September, the long distance team of Iain, Botts, and Damien were also in action in Cervia, Italy. It was a very hot day at 30 degs, but fast and flat when they started out on their IM race.

Iain, competing in his 8th IM, finished in 12hrs. 42.  A great time!

Botts's time was 14:28 in his second IM race. He was heard to say "I hate everything about running!"

A brilliant performance from Damien in his first full IM race.  Completing it in 13 hrs 37.

Gabriel raced in the 70.3 on the Sunday in 7 hrs:12 having started the race at midday in full sun.  That’s an amazing performance.

Huge congratulations to you all.

On 28th September saw the local 10k race held at Eridge Park.  Dean excelled again and came 10th overall.  His training for the Yorkshire marathon is going well!

Latest news in - On Sunday 5th October, Christine ran the Hastings Half Marathon and completed it in a very creditable 2hrs 26.19 and came 3rd in her category.  Training is beginning for London marathon in April.  Go Christine!

I think that is all for now.    Fingers crossed.

Annie
